The Radical Women of LA Series

  • MAAP and Luft join forces to bring you The Radical Women of LA Series, an empowering collection of rides and talks dedicated to championing the voices, ideas, and actions of female leaders passionately propelling the sport of cycling forward. Together, we recognize the need for greater representation and equity for women in cycling, including Black, brown, and indigenous women of color and non-binary and women-identifying cyclists. The Radical Women of LA Series aims to host incredible discourse and ignite positive examples and solutions to keep moving towards a more inclusive and diverse cycling community. Through a carefully curated program of informative and inspiring talks and local rides, we invite you to join us in fueling experiences that will leave you empowered, energized, and motivated. From thought-provoking discussions to local loops led by influential women in cycling–this series is designed to inspire women identifying athletes to be an active participant in paving the way forward.

Event 1: Saturday June 17th 2023

The first of 3 events presented by MAAP X Luft that focus on rad women in the cycling industry. This will be a group road ride followed by a Q&A with some local legends on how to get started, who to lean on, where to learn and get inspired.

There will be two groups that will start from the shop together and will separate based off of distance and elevation.

Event 2: Saturday July 29th 2023

The second event in our 3 part series presented by MAAP X Luft that focus on rad women in the cycling industry. This will be a group road ride followed by a Q&A with some local legends, Sofia and Jules , on taking the next step in cycling, where to train, how to race, and how to be apart of a tam.

There will be two groups that will start from the shop together and will separate based off of distance and elevation.

It's going to be a hot one so make sure to bring enough water!

In addition we will be streaming the Tour de Femme all weekend!

The final event in our 3 part series presented by MAAP X Luft that focus on rad women in the cycling industry. This will be a group road ride followed by a Q&A with trailblazer, and female cycling advocate, Kate Veronneau, on what going pro looks like and the role brands can play.

There will be two groups that will start from the shop together and will separate based off of distance and elevation.

It's going to be a hot one so make sure to bring enough water!
